How to Heal from Heartbreak
Â
What if healing isn’t about time at all?Â
Â
You can heal from heartbreak (even if you feel like you never will).
Â
Take a 5-Minute Quiz
Are you struggling after a breakup?Â
Whether it just happened or it's been months, heartbreak can take over everything. Your sleep. Your thoughts. Your ability to focus. Even your sense of who you are.Â
And no two breakups are the same. What happened in your relationship matters. Why it affected you the way it did matters. And what is keeping you stuck now matters.
With over 30 years’ experience helping women through heartbreak, separation and divorce, I know there is a reason you're finding this so hard. And understanding that reason is the first step towards changing it.
Find out what's keeping you stuck
This free 5-minute quiz identifies how you're responding to this breakup and gives you personalised insight into why you're feeling the way you are and what can help you move forward.
Take the 5-minute QuizTime doesn't heal heartbreak. The right strategies do.
You've waited. You've kept busy. You've told yourself it will get easier.Â
But heartbreak isn't something you simply wait out.
You're dealing with loss, attachment, disrupted routines, unanswered questions, painful memories and a nervous system adjusting to a life it didn't expect.
That's why time alone isn't always enough.
Real heartbreak recovery means understanding what is keeping you stuck and using the right strategies to work through it.
Not more random advice. Not endlessly analysing what happened. A clear, structured process that helps you move forward.
That's exactly why I developed the PEACE Framework.
The PEACE FrameworkÂ
Heartbreak is a unique form of grief, yet there is surprisingly little guidance on how to actually heal from it.
Over more than 30 years working with women through heartbreak, separation and divorce, I kept seeing the same thing.
People were trying to jump straight to the end. Move on. Let go. Start again.
But when you skip the work in the middle, healing can take longer, and the same painful patterns often follow you into the next relationship. And the cycle repeats.
That's why I developed the PEACE Framework:
A clear, structured process for working through heartbreak to heal in the fastest yet healthiest way possible.
Prepare: How do I calm the storm enough to think clearly?
Explore: What actually happened to me, them and the relationship?
Analyse: What do the patterns mean?
Change: What do I need to do differently now?
Emerge: Who do I become after this, and how do I love differently?

Whats your Attachment Style?Â
Take the Quiz above!
Understanding your attachment style is one of the most powerful tools for healing from heartbreak and building healthier relationships. Attachment styles—Secure, Anxious, Avoidant, and Fearful—develop early in life and shape how we connect, communicate, and cope with emotional closeness and separation.
In relationships, they influence how we handle intimacy, trust, conflict, and vulnerability. After a breakup, your attachment style can explain why you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected—and why certain patterns keep repeating. Gaining insight into your style helps you recognize triggers, set boundaries, and respond with greater self-compassion. It’s not about blaming yourself, but about understanding your wiring—so you can consciously shift toward more secure, connected, and fulfilling relationships in the future.
Â
      Whats your Coping Style?
Take the Quiz above!Â
In my work I've noticed that some people drown in emotions, others blame themselves, some people spiral in their head, some people try to detach and numb themselves while others are focussed on the future. While I've observed people having a combination of all of these, typically; one of these responses is their primary response. I call this a persons "Primary Emotional Response."
We all cope differently in the face of heartache. It's important to understand what your style of coping is so that we can come up with strategies that are small, achievable, relevant to heartbreak, and also relevant to your particular coping style.
